WhiteRockZone.com

The White Rock Zone encompasses business listings and features things to do and see inside and outside the White Rock zone. We call this “Thinking Inside and Outside The Rock”!

About White Rock…

White Rock is a unique destination for tourists and shoppers alike, with many options for fun, entertainment, exercise, and amazing photo opportunities. The large selection of restaurants will satisfy any palate, and foodies will return wanting more.

If you’re a seeker of sunshine, White Rock is the place to be. Known as “The Hole in the Sky” by pilots flying overhead, White Rock gets the most sun of anywhere in the lower mainland. While other areas may be under cloud cover, the sun is likely to be smiling on The Rock!

About the rest of the White Rock Zone…

We understand that not everyone in the northwest can be at White Rock Beach at the same time. And we are encouraging people to visit other locations in The Zone, all within a two-hour drive or less of White Rock, encompassing the BC lower mainland, Vancouver Island, and northwest Washington State as far south as Seattle.

The staff of WhiteRockZone.com, Ric Wallace & Sheila T, are photographers who love to take pictures! We are also avid walkers and believe in the power of exercise in the White Rock Zone.

Virtual Edge Communications is located in White Rock, British Columbia serving the world in web design, digital photography, online advertising, PowerPoint, computer graphics, e-marketing, ebook publishing, and more.

In the summer of 2011, we were visiting White Rock Beach and never left! We moved our web design/marketing company to White Rock. We are always meeting new people to find out why they like White Rock and always inquire as to their favorite places to visit or things to do throughout The Zone.

Sometimes we even discover places on our own. For example: We created a video of our visit to Whatcom Falls Park in Bellingham WA, and showed it to a local lifetime BC resident who never knew it existed, even though this resident shops in Bellingham every couple of weeks.

With the proximity of the White Rock Zone to the Washington State border, we are also providing travel tips to help make your crossing easier.

We are asking anyone who lives in or visits White Rock to be goodwill ambassadors and let people know about White Rock Beach – the luckiest place on the west coast! You can let people know by word of mouth, telephone, social media, email, or even send them one of our really cool White Rock Beach postcards.

If you are coming to White Rock from elsewhere in The Zone, feel free to let us know of any Hot Spots for shopping or pleasure in your area.

Woman killed by passenger train in #WhiteRock

There are many trains that come through White Rock 24-7.  We hear the train horns all hours of the night and day. We expect even more horns. If a train is coming, GET OFF THE TRACKS or you could make the news. Crossing the tracks? Also use your eyes and look both ways. If you have been drinking alcohol, stay away from the tracks. DO NOT let children play on the tracks or walk along the tracks. Walk carefully when crossing the tracks, do not run as you could trip or get your feet caught in the tracks. Remove iPod or MP3 player ear buds or headphones prior to crossing the tracks. Better safe than sorry. Trying to beat the train could be tragic.

The accident was along this section of track at the east beach.

White Rock jogger, 42, killed by passenger train

Loved ones remember Anita Lewis “a loving mother, adoring wife, sister, daughter, a special friend to all.”

The incident took place in East Beach, near the Semiahmoo First Nation, on the 15500-block of Marine Drive at 9:45 p.m. and was witnessed by several people.

Early reports indicate that her husband was nearby.
