There were hundreds or maybe thousands of people at the waterfront watching the live destruction of the iconic White Rock Beach Pier on December 20, 2018. This image was ONLY captured by Ric Wallace / Mr White Rock and lasted for about 1.2 seconds showing the ray of sunshine during the Storm Of the Century that took out the White Rock Pier. This is a piece of local history and people are amazed the force mother nature has. The photo below is a collage showing the timeline of the start of the storm and aftermath which  happened in 3 hours and 4 minutes.  Ric Wallace took over 1300 photos and videos during this storm. THIS IMAGE IS ONLY SOLD directly from Ric Wallace and not in galleries or art stores.  Many penthouse owners in the White Rock/South Surrey area have the images in the posting on their walls, but these images are offered to anyone who has a love for White Rock Beach.

This 24″ x 36″ collage took over 3 long days and many proofs to master this wall art. It has 15 photos that tells the story of the December 20, 2018 storm that took out the White Rock beach Pier.
There is no other collage or photo on the market showing what took place in one photo as a 24″ x 36″ acrylic print. Many people have purchased Storm of the Century postcard sets, photos and had a framing store mat and frame the prints.  This is ready to hang on the wall.

This would be ideal for any office, waiting room, restaurant and would attract attention.

Below was the first day setting up as an artist as part of the Artist Walk program. This was a one tent and one table setup. Bringing a spinner rack for cards is not a good idea, as the rack broke after a few setups.

This was a one tent and 5 table setup, with 60 pounds or weights to hold the tent down. Problem: too much product exposed to direct sunlight.

This was a one tent and 5 table setup, with 60 pounds or weights to hold the tent down. I started to create my own boxes to display products.

This was a 4 table square setup with a 30″ x 60″ canvas print on display in front of the White Rock train station (using NO TENT). This setup is at RISK of bird poop; a tent is better for artwork displays. This only works on an overcast day and not a day with harsh sunshine.

The above is a 2 tent & 5 tables setup, which has been reduced to a 4 table setup, making use of 2’x4′ grid panels. This is the best setup. Postcard & greeting card pockets ganged together hang from tables. The above photo is almost the perfect setup for selling postcards, greeting cards, magnets, prints, matted prints, framed prints, canvas prints and acrylic prints.

Below are some past setups.

This setup was on March 23 and turned out to be very effective. The family shown below from Edmonton, Alberta loved the yellow sunrise showing Mount Baker, WA. This was going to be hanging in their YELLOW painted bathroom. I snapped a photo of the family holding the canvas print they just purchased, making their special day to White Rock Beach even more SPECIAL. Getting customers to help promote your work is something many artists do not do. Ric Wallace – Mr White Rock is a master of promotion- with Scottish in his DNA – getting it for FREE is what he does all the time.

Canvas prints are lightweight and can cover a large area quickly. If you do not shrink wrap the edges, they will soon get damaged.

Ric Wallace – CROWtographer / ARTographer / CROW / CROWS

Ric’s goal for 2018 and beyond is to explode the CrowART line of postcards, greeting cards, magnets, poster prints, Wall ART and more. cool-photographer

On the photography side, Ric has mastered lighting, composition, and the ability to see the world from a non-traditional viewpoint. He often incorporates shapes silhouetted in photographs for impact and visual interest. Often when taking a photograph, he thinks more like an artist or an art director than a photographer. Ric doesn’t just see the image before him; he visualizes its future use in a variety of products and/or media. He knows how to attract attention in order to promote his ARTography.

In 2011, he travelled by car three time zones as far west as he could in Canada until he reached Tofino, BC on the west coast of Vancouver Island. He started working his way back in the direction of Ontario and happened to visit White Rock, BC – a place he had never heard of before. With August temperatures of 21 to 23C, White Rock was very appealing compared to southwestern Ontario temperatures of 40 to 50C with humidity and hail storms.
As a bonus, Ric even found they grew palm trees here! Spending just one winter in White Rock convinced Ric to stay and make the west coast his new home. Back in 1995, Ric’s love of nature photography – and, in particular, wildlife – led him to create an entire line of photographs dedicated to white squirrels. He marketed those images locally, but it was time to try online promotion.

And so, it was the white squirrels that created a need for him to learn website design. After 21 years, he is still actively promoting his white squirrel photographs. What he did for the white squirrels, he saw an opportunity for the “white rock” that gave this community its name.
