A strong early season storm is moving across the British Columbia coast today. Heavy rain developed overnight and is expected to continue throughout most of the day. Areas in Metro Vancouver – from the north shore east to Coquitlam, as well as the Fraser Valley and Howe Sound can expect rain totals of 40 to 60 mm. The heavy rain is expected taper off late in the day to a few showers. Meanwhile gusty southwesterly winds up to 90 km/h are expected over Vancouver and portions of the Fraser Valley just as the front crosses the Lower Mainland late this afternoon and evening.
