I’ve Written a Book?

It appears that I’ve written a book— well, a song, actually—and it’s been turned into a brilliant children’s book by illustrator, Cynthia Nugent. I Want To Go To the Moon tells the story of young Neil, who sets his mind on the impossible goal – of going to the moon. He won’t let anyone stop him, even though everybody tries to.

I’ve just received my advance copy, and I’m “over the moon.” I’m sure you’ll love Cynthia’s illustrations as much as I do. They’re vibrant, quirky, and fun. The book includes a CD of the song, which was masterfully produced and arranged by my longtime musical-wizard friend, Dan Ross. It will be available in public libraries and fine bookstores everywhere, including Amazon and Chapters Indigo.

I knew Cynthia as a fellow ukulelist and gave her a CD of my songs. I didn’t know she was an illustrator until she said she’d like to turn the “moon song” into a children’s book. After I went online to check out her artwork, I was sold.

The book release event is Saturday, December 17th, from 2-4pm, at the Coast Capital Playhouse (1532 Johnston Rd.) in White Rock, just in time for Christmas, because I know how difficult it is to find the perfect, high quality, yet reasonably-priced gift nowadays – (oh, stop it!!!!)

And yes, everyone’s invited!
