The computer file can be supplied on CD/ DVD, USB, or downloaded from the internet to ensure exact copies can be made for years to come, with no loss in quality like prints made from negatives which will degrade over time.

HILL CLIMB

The weekend kicks off with the Homelife Realty Hill Climb, an exciting dash to the top of Buena Vista Avenue in the heart of White Rock. This is a grueling event with riders starting at one-minute intervals racing side by side to be the first to reach the top. This climb takes sheer power and strength to successfully conquer the steep 700-metre ascent with a 16% grade. The competitors start at the bottom of Buena Vista Avenue and Oxford Street and race up Buena Vista and finish just beyond Foster Street. All categories of women’s and men’s riders are eligible to compete in this event. The race starts at 7:00pm for the women and 7:30pm for the men with the top five finishers in each category racing at the end for the top 3 spots on the podium. Lined with cheering spectators and gorgeous views of Semiahmoo Bay in the background, it is the perfect setting to lead the weekend’s festivities.

CRITERIUM
The second event features the Choices Markets Criterium, where racers reach speeds of up to 70 km/hr as they race on a 1-km circuit that loops from Johnston Road, around five corners, past City Hall and back around White Rock Elementary. This late afternoon/early evening event starts at Johnston Road and Roper Avenue with the men’s category 3 & 4 cyclists racing at 4:00pm, followed by the women’s race (all categories) at 5:00pm. The final group to hit the course is the men’s pro race at 6:00pm, which will include professional and category 1 & 2 cyclists. The exciting shoulder-to-shoulder sprints of the ‘Crit’ provide many thrilling moments as competitors surge ahead to chase cash in the prime (pronounced ‘preem’) laps. Racing in the lead pack and maneuvering for position is as exhilarating for the competitors as it is for the spectators.

The weekend wraps up with the renowned Peace Arch News Road Race, which takes cyclists through the beautiful landscapes of White Rock’s hilly seaside. Semiahmoo Bay and Mount Baker provide picturesque backdrops as spectators watch the action from restaurants and shops along Marine Drive. This race tests the athletes’ endurance and stamina. The long steep climbs, sharp turns, and quick descents along this course demand keen attention, clever tactics, and toughness known to seasoned cyclists. The men start at 9:00am ahead of the women at 9:05am from the start/finish line at Marine Drive at the Pier. The men’s course is 130 km (11 long laps and 5 short laps) and the women’s course is 80 km (8 long laps). The women’s race takes approximately 2.5 hours to complete and the men’s race takes approximately 3.5 hours. Now in its 33rd year, the Peace Arch News Road Race is one of the most prestigious and historic races in North America.
FREE SHUTTLE
Free shuttle service between Centennial Park Leisure Centre and the beach on SUNDAY JULY 15th only between 9:00am and 1:30pm. People can park at Centennial for $2 for the day and take the free shuttle every 20 minutes between the above mentioned hours. The Shuttle also stops at the Semiahmoo Parking lot by the WAG restaurant on Marine Drive. It circles between Centennial and Semiahmoo Parking lot.
