Details

A series of moist Pacific frontal systems continue to impact the South Coast this week. In the short term, a break between frontal systems has allowed a temporary reprieve from the heavy rain. The heavy rain has tapered off to showers today across the South Coast. However, another frontal system tapping subtropical moisture is poised to strike the South Coast tonight. Heavy rain is forecast to redevelop across Metro Vancouver, Howe Sound, West Vancouver Island and the Fraser Valley this evening and continue all day Thursday. Additional amounts of 50 to 80 mm is forecast by Thursday night. For West Vancouver Island 100 to 120 mm is forecast by Thursday morning. Tweet observations of severe weather using the hashtag #bcstorm.
