Summary

Rain, at times heavy, is expected. Rain has begun across the South Coast this evening as the first wave moves across the Lower Mainland. Rain will ease in the next hour or two and the next wave will cross the South Coast overnight bringing a total near 50 mm to the northern sections of Metro Vancouver especially near the North Shore mountains before easing off near midday Tuesday. Another band of heavy rain is expected to move through Tuesday night.

Strong winds that may cause damage are expected or occurring. A deep Pacific low pressure system is moving across the Vancouver Island. Southwesterly winds of 60km/h gusting to 90 are expected over most south coast regions this evening. Winds will ease later this evening as the low moves inland.
