While on a trip to Bellingham, WA looking for treasure at various stores and shopping at Fred Meyer’s — not to mention saving usually over 40 cents a litre on gas alone — Captain Lucky caught, out of his right eye, a sign for the BLACK PEARL Asian Fusion Restaurant. With Black Pearls being rare and associated with LUCK, as prized by pirates, Captain Lucky thought they should check this place out. Having shopped for about 3 hours we were super hungry.

Lucky wolfed down the Vermicelli Rice Noodle Bowl with Grilled Chicken & Grilled Shrimp. He wanted to ask for a straw to clean his bowl, but Sugar-toes said, “No!”

The Black Pearl Asian Infusion restaurant has opened its third location in Bellingham, on Bakerview Rd near Fred Meyer’s.

Sugar-toes found the Chicken Teriyaki with a side salad and vermicelli noodles to be yummy.

With clean plates and full bellies, our two Squirrel mascots felt truly LUCKY to have found our new favorite restaurant in Bellingham, WA. If you wonder how two small squirrels can consume so much food and not put on weight, we do a lot of cardio walking up the Oxford Street hill at White Rock Beach.

With Captain Lucky being the first Pirate and Sugar-toes the first squirrel wearing pearls to walk through the doors at this new location, the owner Laila, chef Mario and server Sara posed for a group photo. As Arnold Schwarzenegger said, “I’ll be back!”

About the rest of the White Rock Zone…

We understand that not everyone in the northwest can be at White Rock Beach at the same time. And we are encouraging people to visit other locations in The Zone, all within a two-hour drive or less of White Rock, encompassing the BC lower mainland, Vancouver Island, and northwest Washington State as far south as Seattle.

The staff of WhiteRockZone.com, Ric Wallace & Sheila T, are photographers who love to take pictures! We are also avid walkers and believe in the power of exercise in the White Rock Zone.

In the summer of 2011, we were visiting White Rock Beach and never left! We moved our web design/marketing company to White Rock. We are always meeting new people to find out why they like White Rock and always inquire as to their favorite places to visit or things to do throughout The Zone.

Sometimes we even discover places on our own. For example: We created a video of our visit to Whatcom Falls Park in Bellingham WA, and showed it to a local lifetime BC resident who never knew it existed, even though this resident shops in Bellingham every couple of weeks.

With the proximity of the White Rock Zone to the Washington State border, we are also providing travel tips to help make your crossing easier.

We are asking anyone who lives in or visits White Rock to be goodwill ambassadors and let people know about White Rock Beach – the luckiest place on the west coast! SNOWBALL WARNING issued for visitors to the Mount Baker Washington Area

On July 31, 2013 Lucky & Sugar-toes decided to play hookey and head to Mount Baker Washington State. We have photographed Mount Baker many times from the lower mainland of British Columbia but never up close near the top.

We stopped at Cross Roads Grocery in Maple Falls, WA to get a year’s park pass and looking for snacks to take for the tip. We were lucky to find some Hoodys peanuts, perfect for energy when hiking in the mountains. Store clerk Lois shows off some of our postcards we gave as gifts. The views were breathtaking and we saw SNOW in July, almost August.Sugar-toes stopped to smell some wild mountain flowers.It is hard to believe this is maybe an hour from White Rock Beach, BC.

[VirtualEdge-AD-10]When LUCKY’S back was turned this tourist from White Rock, BC hit LUCKY with a snowball when he was not looking. After a brief exchange of friendly fire snowballs we watched people tobogganing on the snow in about 29C temperatures in shorts.
