How time is flying as we get closer to the Spirit of the Sea Festival weekend here in Sunny White Rock. Still looking for more volunteers. And a big thank you to all who have stepped up to volunteer!

Here are the updates. All volunteers to report to the volunteer center before starting your shifts and also to sign out at the end of the day. Volunteer certificates will be available to those who need them.

Friday: Noon onward – will need some very able bodied volunteers to collect tables, signage, tents and chairs. Also to put up some parking signs. Please let me know if you are able to do this. We will have an outdoor
movie in the SFN parking lot.

Saturday 6 am – need some able bodied volunteers to put out signage barricades, tables and tents before 8 am. Please let me know if you are able to do this

Children’s area: Need 2 volunteers to carry the banner in the kid’s parade Saturday morning as well as someone to wear the Roxie suit. Volunteers wanting to work in the Children’s area will be starting set-up at 8 am on Saturday and 9 am on Sunday. We will be giving first choice to those who can work all day – that is from 10- 4:30 Saturday and 11- 4:30
Sunday. Breaks will be arranged.

SFN BBQ will be held both days

Stages: Most volunteers who are working stages have already been contacted. They will be running until 9 pm each night. We might need a couple more volunteers.

Marketplace: Need one volunteer on Saturday at 5:45 am to help ;with the registration desk. Otherwise we will need volunteers to help the vendors with their set-ups etc.

Barricades: Barb Todd is contacting all potential barricade volunteers.
She will be working out training, times and locations.

Paddleboards: Volunteers will be assisting in the clinics etc.

Signage: Volunteers will be needed to check on the signage that is up

Parade support: Late afternoon and evening of Saturday

Shuttle buses: Could still do with a few more drivers with at least Class 4

Parking support at SFN parking lot.

T-Shirt sales – volunteers needed.

Floaters: Plug into the holes that appear.

Volunteer Center: We will be in a building behind the Feral Boards Shop opposite the Sandpiper and Ocean Promenade hotel on Marine Drive along with
the RCMP. This is on East Beach just west of the park and children’s area. We will have real walls!!!! * This is where the Volunteer Orientation will happen on Friday August 2nd. On Friday we will be having orientation training classes during the time from 3- 6 pm. At this time you will also be able to get your full schedule for volunteering. To be covered by our insurance please make certain that you have registered at **

If and only if you are unable to attend the Orientation then you should call me at 604-323-3430 on Thursday afternoon (should have most of the scheduling done by then) to check your schedule and starting time. If you
are intending to volunteer for the whole day, then just come before 8 am. I will not be able to access my emails after 11 am on Friday until Monday.
